Former cricket coach Waqar Younis recently engaged in discussions with PCB Chairman Najam Sethi at Qaddafi Stadium.

During his post-meeting interaction with the media, Younis confirmed his application for the head coach position on the national team. He emphasized his readiness and enthusiasm to assume the role again, stating, “I have applied for the post of head coach. Like others, I am also available to take up the job.”

Waqar Younis is widely regarded as a strong candidate for the position. Should he be chosen, this tenure would mark his second stint as the head coach, having previously led the Pakistani cricket team from March 2010 to March 2011.

Addressing speculations about potential conflicts, Younis categorically denied having any disagreements or issues with former colleague Moin Khan or any other team officials. Additionally, it has come to light that Saqlain Mushtaq, another former teammate of Younis, has also submitted his application for the head coach position, setting the stage for a competitive selection process.
