Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the previous government of Prime Minister Imran Khan had a “wrong attitude” and policy towards the Tahreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and associated frictions.
In an interview with Al Jazeera Tv on Tuesday evening Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that his government had halted the Taliban appeasement policy and criticized PTI’s previous government and said. “Its policy of appeasement towards the Taliban has created problems for the people of Pakistan.”
“We recently had a national security meeting of our top political and military leadership, and it was resolved that we would not tolerate terrorist organizations and anybody who breaks the law in Pakistan,” the foreign minister added.
After unilaterally ending an Afghan Taliban-brokered ceasefire agreement in November, Pakistan Taliban strikes have increased.
The Pakistani Taliban, which claims thousands of fighters and supporters, is ideologically similar to the Taliban in Afghanistan but has largely local members.
