Around one in 10 flights may be cancelled at Britain´s biggest airport Heathrow today due to stormy weather, an airport spokesman said.
The tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo, which caused damage in Bermuda this week, is set to arrive in Britain later today bringing gusts of up to 120 kilometres (75 miles) an hour in coastal areas.
“There will be some cancellations, around 10 percent of flights are affected at Heathrow,” a spokesman for the airport said.
British Airways said it had cancelled a number of flights and advised passengers to check their bookings online.
