The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated legal action against journalist and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan, accusing him of orchestrating an online campaign against the judiciary. The complaint, lodged by Islamabad resident Ahmad Sadiq Khan under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, particularly Section 20, alleges privacy violations and includes charges of threats and abetment.
The FIA’s Cyber Crime Circle in Islamabad registered the case, implicating seven individuals, including Imran Riaz. The group also comprises Mujahid Ali Shah, Allah Nawaz Khan, Sohail Ahmed, Umar Sadiq, Sadiq Anjum, Musadiq Abbasi, and Tariq Saleem. Sources suggest that arrests are forthcoming and hint at the potential for additional charges against other vloggers and YouTubers engaging in similar activities.
This development is part of a broader intensification of authorities’ efforts to monitor and address social media content they deem detrimental to the judiciary.
