Islamabad: FIA FATF desks will be established across Pakistan to strengthen the implementation and monitoring of Financial Action Task Force-related requirements.
The Federal Investigation Agency director general directed all additional directors general and zonal directors to create dedicated desks. These desks will be established in their jurisdictions.
The desks will collect details of FATF-related actions on the six tasks assigned to Pakistan, as per the orders.
Officials will compile the information for a possible FATF mutual evaluation scheduled in the last quarter of this year.
The orders also instructed all FIA wings and zones to ensure full implementation of FATF tasks.
Designated focal persons must submit implementation reports to the FIA director general within 7 days, as per the directives.

A proforma based on seven Terms of Reference has been attached to the orders to support reporting and monitoring.
The FIA said the agency and other law enforcement bodies must effectively implement FATF-assigned tasks. This is part of Pakistan’s compliance obligations.
