The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has successfully apprehended an individual illegally selling prohibited and expired medications in Karachi.

The suspect, identified as Shehzad Aftab, was arrested from the Defense Badar Commercial area during a meticulously coordinated operation that involved drug inspection teams. The operation led to the discovery of various unlawful activities by the company Aftab was associated with, including the repackaging of high-quality drugs and the resale of surplus medicines that had been exported in substantial quantities.

The operation notably uncovered a significant cache of prohibited drugs, which were promptly seized to prevent further distribution and are currently under thorough investigation.

Further troubling was the discovery of expired medications being sold without appropriate packaging or expiry dates indicated, presenting severe health risks to unsuspecting consumers.

In response to these findings, the FIA has collected samples of all confiscated medicines and sent them to a laboratory for detailed analysis to ensure they meet safety standards and comply with health regulations. This step is part of the broader efforts to safeguard public health and enforce stringent controls over regional pharmaceutical practices.
