The federal government has announced a nine-day winter holiday for educational institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

According to an official notification, all FDE-run schools and colleges will observe winter vacations from December 26, 2025, to January 3, 2026.

The directive applies to Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges, as well as former Federal Government Colleges in both urban and rural areas of the capital. The FDE has shared the notification with heads of all relevant institutions.

Academic activities will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026, as confirmed in the notification. The FDE also announced that Saturday, January 10, 2026, will serve as a working day. Administrative, teaching, and non-teaching staff will report for duty to complete priority tasks.
