Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader Dr Farooq Sattar was released on the orders of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
According to local news channel ‘GEO Tv’, Interior Minister Nisar directed Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to release Farooq Sattar who was detained by Rangers following MQM founder’s provocative and anti-Pakistan speech on August 22.
Sattar was among several MQM leaders detained after violent protests by MQM workers targeting media offices in Karachi.
Farooq Sattar was taken into custody by Rangers officials outside Karachi Press Club.
