A 60-year old man was killed when a fake ‘pir’ tried to exorcise him of what he called a ‘Jinn’ in Gujranwala.
Pir Baba Sain Sarkar tied 60-year-old Abdul Sattar, a resident of Gujranwala, to a charpoy and burnt him alive on red hot coals in an attempt to remove the genie , the locals said.
The victim was burnt to death while the pir fled the scene.
The police took the body into their custody and shifted it to a hospital for medico legal formalities.
The police registered a case against fake pir who was at large till the filing of this report.
