Facebook and Instagram suffered another service disruption on Wednesday, July 22, as thousands of users reported login, app and feed failures across multiple markets.
About 3,600 combined reports reached Downdetector as the disruption peaked around 7:54 am Eastern Time, equivalent to 4:54 pm Pakistan Standard Time.
Facebook users reported app failures, website-access problems and login errors. Instagram complaints primarily concerned the mobile application, server connections and feeds that would not refresh.
Android Authority recorded nearly 1,400 Instagram complaints shortly after 7:30 am Eastern Time. Its outage map showed reports from New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Some users also reported delayed message delivery and loading issues in Facebook Messenger. Meta Platforms had not issued a public explanation or provided a confirmed restoration timeline at the time of reporting.

Claims that a Domain Name System failure, a Border Gateway Protocol error, or a cyberattack caused the disruption remained unverified. The available evidence did not establish the technical cause.
The incident marked the second disruption affecting major Meta services within three days. Facebook and Instagram also experienced widespread access problems on Sunday, July 19.
Although some initial reports included WhatsApp, independent outage data available at publication centred primarily on Facebook and Instagram, and Meta had not confirmed a widespread WhatsApp failure.
