The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has escalated, with the death toll reaching 1,800; about 1,000 Israelis and 830 Palestinians have tragically lost their lives.

Hussein Al-Sheikh, the secretary-general of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), voiced his concerns about Israel’s denial to allow essential supplies into the Gaza Strip. “The Gaza Strip faces a looming humanitarian catastrophe,” he emphasized, appealing to the global community to take urgent relief measures.

Adding to the grim situation, airstrikes have displaced nearly 200,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The worsening hostilities only deepen the region’s humanitarian crisis.

US President Condemns Hamas Attacks

In a recent televised address, US President Joe Biden labelled Hamas’s aggression towards Israel as “sheer evil.” Drawing attention to the gravity of the situation, he remarked, “There are moments when pure, unadulterated evil is unleashed on this world.”

While the Israeli military notes that no recent breaches have occurred at the barrier, they remain vigilant, installing mines to deter further intrusions. The scale and nature of Hamas’s attacks, encompassing land, air, and sea, have drawn comparisons to the devastating events of September 11, 2001, in the US.

Rocket attacks from Gaza and southern Lebanon towards Israel have increased concerns over a broader regional conflict. Following the rockets targeting the city of Ashkelon, Israel responded with retaliatory fire, signalling a tense escalation along the Israeli-Lebanese frontier.

Israeli Forces Discover Hamas Casualties

Around 1,500 bodies of Hamas fighters have been located in areas near the Gaza Strip within Israel. As the airstrikes persist, Israeli forces are bolstering their border security and preparing for potential future operations.
