MONTERREY: Television presenter Ernesto Chavana kicked a drone that struck model Isabella Rojas in the face during Monday’s live broadcast of Es Show in Mexico, leaving her with a cut lip.
The incident occurred inside the Canal 6 Multimedios studio as the device flew near the presenter. Chavana raised his leg and kicked it toward other cast members standing nearby.
Rojas, a Colombian model and dancer known on the programme as “La Colombiana”, covered her face with her hands after the impact.
Other cast members went to assist her and accompanied her away from the cameras. The broadcast continued while she received off-camera attention.
She later returned to the studio after paramedics treated her, according to Mexican media coverage. Later, she shared images showing an injury to her upper lip. Chavana apologised during the programme and accepted responsibility for what had happened.
“I take responsibility for what just happened,” he said in Spanish, adding that he felt ashamed and embarrassed by his actions.
Production staff also said he would take responsibility for the harm he caused Rojas. However, no detailed medical assessment establishing the full extent of her injuries has been made public.
