Emirates airlines has denied a news report claiming that the carrier was planning to launch domestic flights in Pakistan.
Emirates Airlines management in a statement denied such news and said “It has been misquoted,”
A Pakistani daily newspaper, quoting an interview with Jabr Al Azeeby, Country Manager Pakistan Emirates Airline, said that “there are talks on a government to government level and as soon as we get the go ahead, Emirates will start serving Pakistan’s domestic air passengers”.
Syed Ishaq Hussain, PIA general manager in Dubai, said he has sent the news to the airline’s head office in Karachi for clarification.
“I’m not in a position to confirm and deny the news,” Hussain told Khaleej Times.
To a question, he said domestic service can only be started in either country if it is already a part of bilateral agreement between the two countries.
