The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted the likelihood of the Shawwal moon being visible across Pakistan on April 9.
PMD anticipates the Shawwal moon’s emergence on the evening of April 8, precisely at 11:21 pm local time.
By April 9, the moon is expected to be 19 to 20 hours old and visible for approximately 50 minutes post-sunset, according to the weather authority.
Should the moon be sighted on April 9, Eidul Fitr is set to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, PMD stated.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, also predicted Eidul Fitr 2024 to occur on Wednesday, April 10, in Pakistan.
Maulana Azad mentioned that scientific data support the Shawwal crescent’s potential sighting on Ramadan’s 29th day.
Eidul Fitr represents a global religious celebration for Muslims, featuring communal prayers, feasts, and gift exchanges among loved ones.
