The Punjab government has officially announced Eidul Fitr holidays for all public and private educational institutions across the province.

According to the notification, schools will remain closed from Thursday, March 28, with classes resuming on Sunday, April 7.

Punjab’s Education Minister confirmed the decision, stating that the break allows students and teachers to participate fully in Eid celebrations. Khalid Wattoo, Secretary of Schools, further clarified that annual examination results will be announced on April 4, before reopening.

The announcement follows the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s prediction that Eidul Fitr will be observed on Monday, March 31.

Federal and Sindh Government Measures

In related news, the federal government has approved a three-day nationwide holiday from March 31 to April 2. Meanwhile, the Sindh Transport Department has mandated all officers and staff to remain on duty during Eid to prevent overcharging and ensure smooth public travel.
