Pakistan is jubilantly observing Eidul Azha, a significant religious festival celebrated by Muslims globally, with traditional passion and enthusiasm. The holiday signifies the culmination of Hajj rituals at Mina.
Also known as the “Feast of Sacrifice”, this Eid honours the sacrifice Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) was prepared to make by offering his only son at God’s command. Today, Muslims express their allegiance to this act of obedience by performing animal sacrifices.
Countrywide congregational prayers were organized to mark the occasion, with specific prayers dedicated to Pakistan’s safety, growth, and prosperity.
Moreover, prayers were also directed towards the liberation of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to resolving ongoing conflict and corruption in other Muslim nations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif communicated that Eidul Azha represents the essence of sacrifice, equality, and compassion, emphasizing that faithful observance of this ritual involves embracing a lifestyle of purity and devotion.
Via a tweet on the eve of Eidul Azha, the Prime Minister extended warm wishes to the global Muslim community, particularly to Pakistanis residing overseas, who marked this sacred event on Wednesday.
The armed forces of Pakistan, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), and services chiefs extended their heartfelt Eidul Azha greetings to all Pakistanis, as per a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The statement added, “Eidul Azha imparts a message of peace, unity, brotherhood, and selfless sacrifice for humanity.”
