Economic Coordination Committee has approved a proposal of Ministry of Water and Power for issuing Sovereign Guarantee in respect of syndicated term finance facility for the Power Sector.
The approval was given at a meeting of the Committee chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad.
Earlier, Secretary Water and Power gave a short presentation on performance of power sector for the years 2014-16.
He said with concerted efforts there has been considerable decrease in load shedding in the country.
He said during the last two years, recovery rate was as high as ninety-three percent while Transmission and Distribution losses have been brought down to lowest ever, 17.80 percent by 2016.
The Secretary further informed that efforts are afoot towards achieving zero percent load-shedding. (PhotoNew / APP)
