Dubai has officially rolled out its driverless taxis in a public launch, marking a major step in the city’s push toward smart mobility.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced an initial fleet of 100 autonomous taxis, now available for public use. The service has started in Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah, two key areas along Dubai’s coastline.
These locations include both residential neighbourhoods and popular tourist destinations, allowing a wide range of users to تجربة the new technology. Passengers can access the driverless taxis through familiar ride-hailing platforms.
The vehicles are available via the Uber and Apollo Go apps, making booking simple and accessible for residents and visitors alike. The taxis are operated in partnership with two Chinese autonomous driving technology firms.
This collaboration highlights Dubai’s strategy of working with global tech leaders to accelerate innovation in public transport. Authorities say the fleet will expand gradually over the coming years.
