Dr. Farooq Sattar, head of the MQM Bahali Committee, announced support for the MQM-political P’s movement against ‘controversial’ delimitations and a strong LG system.

Dr. Farooq Sattar announced after meeting MQM-P convener Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

Dr. Siddiqui invited Dr. Sattar to the January 11 protest.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said pre-poll rigging begins in Karachi and Hyderabad with flawed delimitations and bogus voter lists.

Sattar warned MQM-P leaders against signing a political agreement with the ruling PPP in Sindh. He also promised to work with MQM-P for urban Sindh’s rights.

Sources said that Dr. Farooq Sattar assured Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui he would attend the MQM-P protest against delimitations.

He complained that Muhajirs weren’t counted in the census and lacked basic rights. He criticized PPP for not following agreements with MQM-P.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui welcomed Dr. Farooq Sattar’s support for MQM-P demands. He said union councils (UCs) in Muhajir majority areas have 80,000 to 100,000 citizens, while others have 25,000 to 30,000.

Dr. Siddiqui said pre-election rigging has begun in Karachi, and nobody will accept LG election results. He also criticized the ECP for not conducting free and fair LG elections.

The MQM-P convener said they have no other option but to protest. He clarified that MQM-P won’t boycott LG polls to hurt its rivals.
