Cement sales in Pakistan decreased 5.78% in October 2023, amounting to 4.007 million tonnes.
According to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), this number was in contrast to the figures from the same month in the previous fiscal year.
Domestic Sales vs Exports
Local cement sales in October 2023 accounted for 3.292 million tonnes, marking a notable 15.38% decrease from the 3.890 million tonnes in the previous year. However, on the brighter side, cement exports have seen a significant surge. Compared to October 2022’s 362,350 tonnes, exports in October 2023 skyrocketed by 97.33% to 715,028 tonnes.
Looking back at September 2023, cement exports also experienced a hike of 19.24%, settling at 570,101 tonnes. In terms of domestic sales, there was a decline from September 2022’s 4.2 million tonnes to 3.544 million tonnes in September 2023.
