Combs, now facing serious allegations, including human trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution, has been in the spotlight for not only his music career but also his tumultuous personal life. In a 2007 interview with Essence, Combs hinted at using his high-profile relationship with Lopez to spark jealousy in Porter, suggesting that he hoped it would prompt her to return to him.

Combs settled the lawsuit swiftly, claiming innocence as part of the agreement. His arrest by the Department of Homeland Security led to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and related crimes, with his trial scheduled to start on May 5, 2025.
