Diddy Requests Trial Delay Citing Astrology Concerns as Legal Troubles Mount

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team made an unusual argument in Manhattan federal court last Friday, seeking to postpone his upcoming trial for procedural reasons and unfavourable astrological conditions. The 54-year-old music mogul faces serious federal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.

While attorneys officially requested a two-month delay to review new evidence, sources reveal Combs harboured deeper concerns about planetary alignments. Insiders report the Bad Boy Records founder feared Mercury retrograde and recent eclipses created “unfavourable energy” for his defence.

“He thinks the energy right now just isn’t in his favour,” a case insider revealed. “He genuinely believes in these cosmic timing considerations.”

Judge Denies Unorthodox Request

U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian rejected the delay motion, maintaining the May 5, 2025, trial date. The decision comes as prosecutors prepare to present potentially damning evidence, including 2016 surveillance footage allegedly showing Combs assaulting ex-partner Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel.

The federal case stems from allegations of illegal activities at Combs’ purported “Freak-Off” parties. Since Ventura’s November 2023 civil lawsuit accusing years of abuse, multiple alleged victims have come forward, prompting a months-long federal investigation.

Combs remains held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, where he’s been since his September 2024 arrest. His legal team continues fighting to suppress key evidence they claim could prejudice the jury.

With the trial proceeding as scheduled, Combs’ unusual celestial defence strategy highlights the high stakes of a case that could reshape the music mogul’s legacy. As jury selection approaches, all eyes remain on whether spiritual concerns will give way to courtroom realities.
