Music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain incarcerated longer than originally scheduled. Federal authorities have extended his release date by one month, moving it from May 8 to June 4, 2028.

This adjustment follows reports of multiple rule violations during his confinement at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey. The extension raises questions about the music mogul’s prison experience and conduct.

According to prison sources, Combs faced disciplinary action for consuming homemade alcohol. The illicit beverage reportedly contained fermented sugar, Fanta soda, and apples, violating facility regulations.

A representative for Combs addressed the allegations cautiously. “As with any high-profile individual in a new environment,” the spokesperson stated, “there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there – most of them untrue.”

The artist also encountered issues regarding prison communication protocols. Authorities reported he participated in a prohibited three-way phone call shortly before transferring to his current low-security facility.

Combs’ legal team defended this action, claiming it fell under attorney-client privilege protections. They further argued he lacked proper orientation about specific prison regulations governing such communications. Combs began his prison term in September 2024 following serious criminal charges. A jury found him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution after a trial spanning May through July.

The court sentenced him to four years and two months imprisonment. Additional penalties included a $500,000 fine and mandatory participation in mental health and substance abuse treatment programs. Despite these challenges, Combs’ representatives emphasize his commitment to personal development. His spokesperson noted he remains “focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day.”

The extended release date creates additional time for rehabilitation before his potential return to public life. The music industry continues monitoring how the influential figure will navigate his remaining incarceration period.
