Banshidhar Company has attracted scrutiny from income tax authorities dedicated to dissecting the firm’s intricate deceit in the tobacco sector. Raids were conducted by the department at the residence and offices of the company’s principal, KK Mishra.
NDTV has identified Banshidhar Tobacco Private Limited as a major player in the tobacco domain, notably supplying leading pan masala manufacturers. Despite declaring earnings between ₹20 to 25 crore, investigations suggest the firm’s revenue ranges from ₹100 to 150 crore, unveiling a pattern of secret transactions and lavishness.
The day’s operations resulted in confiscating numerous luxury watches owned by Shivam Mishra, the company’s heir, including a diamond-encrusted piece valued at approximately ₹2.5 crore.
Additionally, authorities secured seven crore rupees in cash, alongside jewellery and various assets, further magnifying the financial examination of the conglomerate.
Previously, an assortment of high-end vehicles, each featuring the ‘4018’ license plate, was seized from Shivam Mishra’s Delhi residence in Vasant Vihar.
Deploying 15 to 20 teams across five states, the agency conducted a comprehensive search linked to Banshidhar Tobacco Company, uncovering a collection of luxury automobiles valued at an astonishing ₹50 crore. This cache included a Rolls-Royce Phantom, valued at ₹16 crore at Shivam Mishra’s Delhi domicile.
These meticulously orchestrated raids have disclosed a realm constructed on financial deceit and alterations. There has been a significant discrepancy between the firm’s reported earnings and actual revenue, with suspicions of concealed funds in offshore accounts and doctored financial records.
KK Mishra, previously deemed untouchable and the patriarch of Banshidhar Tobacco Limited is now confronting the repercussions of his actions. The once fortress-like enterprise now reveals its vulnerabilities, with its core exposed and its clandestine activities brought to light.
