Thousands of devotees arrived at the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine earlier today to attend the three-day long Urs celebrations of the Sufi saint.

The Urs was inaugurated by Sindh Governor Ishrat ul Ebad who visited the shrine and paid his respects to the saint.

A tent city has been established to accommodate devotees. Several others have rented houses of local residents.

Make-shift stalls selling flowers, food, clothes and jewellry have propped in the courtyard. Many are lit up for the occasion.

The organizers headed by deputy commissioner Jamshoro have set up drinking water and medical camps, and arranged events like Sindhi wrestling, horse and cattle show, literary conferences and a musical concert.

On May 28, the third and last day of Urs celebration Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will be the chief guest. He will also visit the shrine.
