Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) will launch the Deepal S05, Pakistan’s first locally assembled range-extended hybrid electric SUV, in November 2025. The S05 belongs to the C-segment and offers a combined driving range of over 1,000 kilometers. It features a pure electric drive system supported by a self-charging generator.
CEO Danial Malik called the launch a “defining moment” for Pakistan’s auto industry. “We’re addressing range anxiety and shaping the future of mobility,” he said. The S05 and its design are specifically crafted for the unique needs of Pakistan. This highlights the significance of Deepal S05 in Pakistan’s market.
Designed by Klaus Zyciora, former head of design at Volkswagen Group, the Deepal S05 won the iF Design Award. Featuring Deepal S05, Pakistan’s latest innovation, the SUV stands out with a spacecraft-inspired front, frameless windows, and hidden door handles. It also boasts the longest wheelbase in its class. It is the roomiest C-segment SUV available in Pakistan.
Since its launch six years ago, MCML has grown to become Pakistan’s third-largest automotive brand. They have over 65,000 vehicles on the road. The Deepal brand, introduced last year, leads the premium new energy vehicle segment. It features models like the S07 SUV and L07 sedan. The introduction of Deepal S05 to Pakistan’s market is expected to boost this growth further.
The limited charging infrastructure has slowed the adoption of electric vehicles in Pakistan. The S05’s hybrid system, however, offers a practical solution, combining long driving range and reliability. Road tests are underway, and PakWheels has released a Walkaround Review giving an early look at the vehicle. By bringing Deepal S05 to Pakistan, the company offers solutions to such infrastructure challenges.
The Deepal S05 brings advanced global technology to Pakistan, alleviating concerns about electric vehicle limitations and promoting eco-friendly driving. The launch of the Deepal S05 marks a new era in Pakistan’s automotive market.
