Karachi: Anti Terrorist Court (ATC) on Tuesday reissued ‘black warrants’ of Saulat Mirza, who will be executed on 1st April in Balochistan.
Mirza was sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court in May 1999 for a triple homicide.
Mirz’s execution was postponed for 72 hours apparently on ‘health reasons’ following his shocking video statement that created waves in country’s politics.
Mirza, claimed that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain had ordered him to carry out the murders.
He also accused the Governor of Sindh, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad of using his authority to have the criminals find a safe passage. Mirza also dragged Pakistan People’s Party into the ‘accusatory picture’ by alleging that the MQM had had him facilitated when PPP was in power.
On Tuesday, ATC No.5 in Karachi issued death warrants for the murder convict following an application from Muchh jail superintendent.
The murder convict, according to the warrants, is now scheduled to be hanged on 1st April.
