A tragic incident unfolded in Turbat, Balochistan, where a passenger bus was struck by a powerful explosion, claiming the lives of at least four individuals and leaving several others injured in the Bahman area as the bus was en route from Karachi to Turbat.
The explosion targeted the passenger bus, causing immediate casualties and damage. Security forces and emergency rescue teams promptly responded to the scene, transporting the deceased and injured to nearby hospitals. According to sources, many of the injured are in critical condition, underscoring the severity of the attack.
The blast also affected nearby vehicles, including a car carrying former SSP Gwadar Zohaib Mohsin and several police officers, who sustained injuries. This incident has raised concerns about the safety of law enforcement personnel in the region.
Key figures such as Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti vehemently condemned the attack. Both leaders expressed their dismay and strong condemnation, emphasizing the need for stringent security measures.
This attack comes in the wake of recent successful operations by security forces against terrorist groups in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), extensive intelligence-based operations since December 9 have resulted in the neutralization of 43 terrorists, significantly disrupting terrorist networks in the region.
The ISPR has reiterated the security forces’ commitment to continue these operations until peace is fully restored and the threat of terrorism is eliminated from Pakistan.
