Actor Daveigh Chase, best known for voicing Lilo in Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch” and playing Samara in “The Ring,” has died at age 35, TMZ reported Wednesday.
Chase’s boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, told TMZ that she had meningitis, which led to sepsis. The outlet reported that Chase had been hospitalised in Los Angeles earlier this month due to malnutrition.
Further details about her death have not been made public, according to the source report.
Chase voiced Lilo in Disney’s 2002 animated film “Lilo & Stitch.” She later reprised the role in sequels and the television series tied to the franchise.
The same year, Chase played Samara Morgan in “The Ring,” one of the decade’s major horror releases. The role gave her a widely recognised place in modern horror cinema.
Born Daveigh Elizabeth Chase-Schwallier in Las Vegas, she began acting as a child. Her early television credits included “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “Charmed,” “ER” and “The Practice.”
