Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, expressed his concerns about the “illegal and unwarranted” disclosure of the tax details of General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s family members.
According to a statement from the Finance Division, “This is a violation of the entire confidentiality of tax information that the law provides.”
According to the statement, the ministry has immediately started investigating the violation of tax law and breach of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) data.
The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Revenue, Tariq Mehmood Pasha, has been tasked to lead the probe, affix responsibility, and submit a report within 24 hours.
