D4vd arrest in teen murder developments drew national attention after authorities said the singer was taken into custody in connection with an alleged homicide case. Investigators linked the case to a badly decomposed body found inside the trunk of a Tesla registered in his name.
The artist, whose real name is David Burke, remains in custody without bail as the Los Angeles police investigation continues. However, officials have not yet filed formal charges, and the case is expected to be reviewed by the district attorney’s office.
The investigation dates back to September 2025. That is when Celeste Rivas Hernández, a 14-year-old who had been reported missing in 2024, was found dead inside the impounded Tesla.
Authorities said the arrest followed months of evidence gathering and was based on probable cause. Even so, prosecutors still need to determine whether to file charges.
Police said the body was discovered on September 8 in a Hollywood impound lot after reports of a strong odour coming from the vehicle. The Tesla had reportedly been abandoned and towed days before the discovery.
Investigators said the remains were found in the vehicle’s front trunk. Because of the body’s condition, officials initially faced difficulty determining the cause of death. Still, authorities now say they have enough evidence to classify the case as a homicide.
