Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his departure from the national team camp and said he will explain his decision later.
In a social media statement, Ronaldo said he made the decision after the national coach’s press conference and a conversation with the Portuguese Football Federation president. He did not disclose what they discussed.
“In due time, I will tell the truth to all Portuguese people,” he wrote.
Ronaldo described his longstanding dedication to the national side but gave no date for a fuller explanation. His statement did not announce his retirement from international football.
