Karachi: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday issued orders for release of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Amir Khan on bail after his bail plea was accepted on Monday, Samaa reported.
The objections on security bonds for his bail were cleared as the court issued orders for his release. The court granted bail to Khan against security bonds of Rs.1 million.
The court later issued its orders that Aamir Khan can’t leave the country till completion of the enquiry.
In its remarks, the court said that the bail application of the accused is being accepted over flawed investigation of the case.
Opposing the bail application, Rangers counsel Rana Khalid contended that a new Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was being formed for fresh investigation, admitting that the inquiry was incomplete.
Arguing before the judge, Khan’s counsel Shaukat Hayat said that neither any solid proof against his client could emerge nor had any of the wanted suspects confirmed the allegations.
An FIR was registered against Khan for allegedly providing shelter to 26 wanted suspects arrested by Rangers during raid on and around MQM headquarters, Nine Zero, in Azizabad on March 11.
Aamir Khan was also among those detained in the raid in a case pertaining to instigating terrorism and harbouring criminals.
