In a recent development within the Al-Qadir Trust case, the accountability court has denied Pervez Khattak’s appeal to amend his earlier statement.
Originally, Khattak’s statement did not attribute any responsibility to Imran Khan. However, in a subsequent move, he sought to modify his statement to implicate Khan, an action which the court has now refused to permit.
In the Al-Qadir Trust case, involving allegations surrounding 190 million pounds, Khattak attempted to adjust his testimony by claiming he had approved the summary at the behest of then-Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Khattak’s request was aimed at shifting the blame directly onto Khan. Despite these efforts, the accountability court’s decision to reject the amendment request marks a significant setback for the prosecution, solidifying the current state of the evidence against Khan.
