Unknown gunmen earlier today shot dead a policeman in Liaquatabad area of the city.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) West police told media Zahid Hussain was an official of police’s Special Security Unit.
He said the deceased was part of a security team deployed at the residence of incumbent President Mamnoon Hussain.
The body was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Moreover, the police have arrested six suspects, including an aide of Lyari gangster Uzair Baloch, during raids in different parts of the city as Director General Sindh Rangers and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah renewed their resolve to continue the on-going Karachi operation till the elimination of terrorism.
