Concord’s Post-Launch Roadmap Unveiled, Season 1 Arrives in October

Concord’s first season, titled “The Tempest,” is set to launch in October, introducing a new playable Freegunner, a fresh map, and more exciting content.

Sony has outlined the post-launch roadmap for its online hero shooter, Concord, which recently had an open beta and will be available on PS5 and PC later this month. Priced at $40, Concord will not include a Battlepass system, as confirmed by developer Firewalk Studios. Instead, the studio has revealed that the first major content update will arrive in October, featuring new cosmetics, additional Freegunner variants, and other enhancements.

In a PlayStation Blog post, Firewalk’s game director, Ryan Ellis, shared the studio’s plans for supporting Concord after its release. He promised seasonal updates with new characters, maps, modes, and rewards, offering players fresh ways to enjoy the game.

Season 1: “The Tempest” will debut in October, bringing a new Freegunner, an additional map, Freegunner variants, and cosmetics. The season will also introduce an in-game store where players can purchase customization items for their Freegunners. Firewalk emphasized that these items are purely cosmetic and won’t affect gameplay.

Firewalk has also announced that Season 2 will launch in January 2025, with continued seasonal updates planned throughout the first year. The roadmap suggests that Season 3 will arrive in April 2025.

The studio also introduced Concord’s Crew Builder system, allowing players to create Custom Crews of Freegunners for online matches. Each Custom Crew includes 12 configurable slots with various Freegunners and their variants. These variants come with unique modifiers to base abilities, and more can be unlocked through in-game challenges.

Crew building functions like deck building, enabling players to select specific characters or multiples of the same character to focus on certain abilities. Each Custom Crew also features four Backup slots, which are randomly filled with Freegunners not included in the player’s selected lineup.

Firewalk provided details on the specific release times for Concord across different regions. Early access will begin on August 20 for those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition. The game will be fully available to all players on PC and PS5 starting August 23, with PS5 users who purchased any edition able to pre-load the game now.
