Sri Lanka has set Pakistan a target of 271 runs to win the second test match being played at Sinhalese Sports Cub Ground in Colombo on Sunday.
The hosts started day four of the second test at 177/2.
Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara was the top scorer for the team in the second innings with 59 runs from 130 balls followed by Mahela Jayawardene’s knock of 54 runs from 132 balls. Upul Tharanga scored 45 runs from 63 balls whereas Captain Angelo Mathews made 43 runs in 119 balls.
Pacer Wahab Riaz and Spinner Saeed Ajmal took three wickets each whereas Abdul Rehman took two wickets. This is Jayawardene’s farewell series. And the Lankans are trying their best to see him off with a win.
