General Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to discuss military collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement detailing the army chief’s encounter with the Saudi prime minister amidst his formal visit to the Gulf nation.
According to the ISPR, the discussions encompassed a broad spectrum of mutual concerns, including regional peace and security efforts and bilateral defence and security cooperation.
The press release also mentioned that during the meeting, Mohammad Bin Salman emphasized the long-standing, brotherly, and robust ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, acknowledging their historical support for one another.
The crown prince expressed his intention to deepen these bilateral relationships further, reaffirming the kingdom’s unwavering support for Pakistan in the future, as highlighted by the ISPR.
General Munir reciprocated by expressing gratitude towards the Saudi leadership for their continuous support and warm sentiments towards Pakistan.
The Saudi Press Agency reported the presence of significant Saudi officials at the meeting, including Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, National Security Advisor Dr Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Chief of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Al-Malki.
The Pakistani delegation comprised Ambassador Ahmed Farooq, Secretary to the Commander of the Pakistani Army, Major General Mohammed Jawad Tariq, and Brig Muhammad Asim, the Military Attaché at the Embassy of Pakistan in the Kingdom.
