GILGIT, Gilgit-Baltistan: Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Advocate ordered GB laws online and directed an immediate upgrade of the post of Legal Draftsman during a briefing by the Law and Justice Department.
Amjad issued the directives during a briefing by the Provincial Secretary of Law and Justice. He said the Legal Draftsman post was clearly important to the department’s work.
The chief minister told the secretary to upload all laws passed by the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly on the department’s website. He said the step would give citizens easier access to provincial legislation.
The government would upgrade the post and digitise laws for public access. Amjad said the Law and Justice Department would receive special attention to digitalisation in line with modern requirements.
He said the administration would provide rights to eligible people through administrative measures to reduce the burden on courts.

The chief minister said the Pakistan Peoples Party-led provincial government would not encourage any step outside the rules and regulations. He also pledged to take priority action to resolve the problems facing the Law Department.
