Karachi police averted a terrorist plot to attacks on Ashura processions and prominent city figures.
In a press briefing, Ali Raza, Sub-Inspector of Crime Investigation Department (CID), told media that police on a tip-off, CID conducted a raid at Kanwari Colony in Mangho Pir, arresting five suspected militants.
According to CID, the suspects wanted to hit procession on 9th Moharram.
He also claimed to recover a hit list from their possession, which showed that they wanted to target police officials, politicians and other leaders.
