Chris Rock recently had to contact New York police when an intruder scaled the fire escape of his SoHo apartment building and started taking photographs of the comedian through his window.
Once alerted, the New York Police Department dispatched units to the scene. Rock had informed them that a man had climbed the fire escape of his Manhattan building and begun taking pictures.
According to TMZ, by the time police arrived at Rock’s residence, the individual had vanished. They speculate that the intruder likely fled once discovered by Rock.
Sources suggest the person descended to the street and made a getaway in a white Mercedes Benz.
Despite the intruder’s departure, the NYPD filed a report and initiated an investigation. “The victim reported observing an individual on the fire escape filming through his window,” the NYPD report detailed. “By the time officers arrived, the individual had left the scene.”
Many believe Chris Rock had the last laugh following an Oscars incident in which he was slapped by Will Smith during the ceremony for making a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.
After remaining silent for a year, Rock addressed the incident in his Netflix Special, “Selective Outrage.” He used humor to reconcile with the situation and took pointed jabs at the Smith couple, arguing that his joke was unrelated to Smith’s anger.
In the special, Rock suggested that Smith was disrespected by his wife when she had an affair with a friend of their son and then publicly discussed it.
