Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have reportedly ended their relationship after seven years together, including a period of engagement.
According to a report by The Daily Mail, the Coldplay frontman and the actress have mutually decided to part ways, acknowledging that their relationship has reached its conclusion.
The split comes amid speculation fueled by Johnson’s absence during the European leg of Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour. Further raising eyebrows, Johnson was spotted in Malibu earlier this month without her engagement ring, which she had been wearing since 2020. The exact timeline of Martin’s proposal remains unclear.
The couple first began dating in 2017 following Martin’s divorce from Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares two children, Apple, aged 20, and Moses, aged 18. Martin and Johnson briefly separated in 2019 but reconciled later that year. Throughout their relationship, they maintained a low profile, though Johnson occasionally opened up about the support she received from Martin, particularly during challenging times with her mental health.
Interestingly, during their engagement, Johnson’s friendship with Paltrow captured public attention, highlighted by their close relationship and appearances together, including a photo of them holding hands last year.
Paltrow and Martin, who were married in 2003 and popularized the term “consciously uncoupled” during their 2014 separation, finalized their divorce in 2015. Despite the end of their marital relationship, Martin and Paltrow have continued to co-parent their children.
