The head of the US Central Command (Centcom), Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, paid a visit to the military’s General Headquarters on Thursday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief Commander Centcom met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Munir. During the meeting, topics of mutual interest, the security situation and stability in the region, defense and security cooperation, particularly military-to-military ties, were covered.

The dignitary praised Pakistan for its successes in the battle against terrorism, flood relief efforts, and contributions to regional stability. Finally, the distinguished visitor honored the Pakistani martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument.

According to the press release, a well-dressed contingent of the Pakistani army gave the visiting dignitary a guard of honor.

Today, the group will also go to Torkham to learn more about the border management and anti-terrorism measures in place along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
