Comedian Carrot Top’s lawyer has accused Brian Evans of attempting to extort $500,000 by threatening to expose an intimate recording. Evans denies the allegation.
Attorney Ronnie Bitman made the accusation in a September 3 filing in Broward County, Florida, obtained by Page Six. Carrot Top’s real name is Scott Thompson.
Bitman alleged that Evans threatened to place the recording in the public court file unless Thompson paid him. His account described a demand for immediate payment.
Evans disputes that description of his conduct. He denied threatening to publish footage in exchange for a settlement and said he had deleted the recording under an earlier agreement.
Thompson’s legal team subsequently sought emergency restrictions on Evans’s ability to submit further court documents. Its request included deactivating his electronic filing privileges to prevent further public exposure of private material.
