The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has granted Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, a 14-day protective bail. The court, led by Justice Shakeel Ahmed, instructed the federal government and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to submit a detailed report within two weeks regarding the cases filed against her in various provinces.
During the hearing, the court directed that Bushra Bibi should not be arrested under any of the charges currently registered against her. Her legal counsel explained that the application was to gather specifics on the charges filed across all four provinces.
The counsel further argued that Bushra Bibi is entitled to seek protection in Peshawar for cases registered in other provinces. Justice Sahibzada Asadullah noted that absent of cases in KP, the court is positioned to offer protection for cases in Punjab, Balochistan, and Sindh, as previously done.
Following the grant of protective bail, Bushra Bibi withdrew her application for transit bail.
