BUNER: Buner Gul Da Namair Festival 2026 concluded on Tuesday night after three days of sports events, with winners named in badminton, volleyball, hockey, kabaddi, Mukha, football and tug of war.
Gadezai won the badminton title after Daggar finished as the runner-up. Gadezai also claimed the football championship, with Mardan finishing second.
Gagra secured the volleyball title, while Daggar finished as runners-up. Gagra also won the hockey competition after another final against Daggar.
In kabaddi, the Buner team lifted the championship trophy after defeating Swabi in the final. Aba Khel won the traditional Mukha competition, while Malik Khel finished as runners-up.
Daggar College won the tug-of-war title, with the University of Buner team securing second place.
Former Tehsil Nazim Syed Salar Jehan, Deputy Commissioner Buner Shehryar Qamar and District Police Officer Buner attended the closing ceremony as chief guests.

They distributed prizes and trophies among winning teams and outstanding players.
Additional Deputy Commissioners Qaiser Kundi and Farangis Azim, Director Operations Sports Jamshed Baloch, Chief Coach Shafqat Ullah, Deputy Director Kashif Farhan and Assistant Director Irshad Khan also attended.
Officials congratulated the organising committee and said such events would continue to give young athletes more opportunities and promote healthy sporting activities across the province.
