Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced the resumption of direct flights between Dhaka and Karachi, restoring an air route that had remained suspended since 2012.
According to the airline’s published schedule, the Dhaka–Karachi–Dhaka service will restart on January 29, 2026. Flights from Dhaka to Karachi will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays. These flights will depart Dhaka at 8:00 pm and arrive in Karachi at 11:00 pm.
Return flights from Karachi to Dhaka will operate on Fridays and Sundays. Departures from Karachi are scheduled for 12:01 am, with arrival in Dhaka at 4:20 am. The restored service will re-establish direct air connectivity between the two major cities.

Officials familiar with the development said the decision reflects improved diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Political changes in Bangladesh in 2024 led to renewed engagement, paving the way for the restoration of long-suspended air links.
The plan to resume direct flights was first announced in August last year during Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s visit to Dhaka. The visit marked the first high-level diplomatic engagement between the two countries in more than a decade.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has also shared booking and contact details through its official channels. Aviation and trade experts believe the restored route will support passenger travel and strengthen trade, tourism, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
