Bella Hadid shared a new health update on Instagram about living with chronic Lyme disease, medical anxiety and the emotional toll of ongoing treatment.
The 28-year-old model reposted a message about the “duality” of chronic illness on Instagram Stories and wrote that “medical anxiety” was “so real.”
Hadid said the strain included physical symptoms, as well as repeated treatments and doctor visits. She also thanked the post’s author for describing thoughts and daily situations she recognised.
Fans had already expressed concern after Hadid shared hospital images showing IVs, medical equipment and an oxygen mask. She captioned one update: “I’m sorry I always go MIA I love you guys.”
People reported that Hadid described pain, fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, isolation and depression during a chronic illness flare-up. The outlet said she also told followers that healing is not linear.
Hadid has previously spoken about anxiety and depression. In a World Mental Health Day post, she described the condition as all-consuming and often invisible to others.
