Karachi, Sindh: Banks closed July 1 across Pakistan for public dealings because of the new financial year holiday, the State Bank of Pakistan said.
The central bank said Wednesday, July 1, 2026, would be observed as a bank holiday.
The State Bank of Pakistan notice applies to banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks. The closure applies only to public dealings.

ProPakistani reported that employees of banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks will attend offices as usual.
The public banking transactions and customer services will remain suspended for the day. Banks will resume normal working hours from July 2, 2026.
