Two more people succumbed to their wounds and died on earlier today after the Bani Gala firing incident, which caused the death toll to rise to five.

According to details, police stated that Irum and her three-and-a-half year-old son were the latest to die in the hospital.

During the previous night, a police official had stormed inside a house in Islamabad’s Bani Gala area and opened indiscriminate firing. In the attack, one old woman and a man had been killed while two women had been injured.

According to the version provided by the police, Javed, who was also a police official, had entered the house by force and opened fire on Irum. Irum was a female lawyer and the whole issue had stemmed out from an argument that had taken place between Irum and Javed which pertained to vacating an apartment.

In the firing, a 65-year old woman, Hajra, along with Irum and a youngster by the name of Arshad were also killed in the attack.

According to the police, Javed committed suicide after committing the murders.
